A Tribute to  ‘Ness’

Norwich, UK – May 2025 – UK Holiday Group is proud to announce the 30th anniversary of one of its most valued team members, Vanessa, affectionately known as our very own  ‘Ness’.

This milestone celebrates three decades of hard work, dedication, and exceptional service that have contributed to the company’s ongoing success.

Vanessa’s journey with UK Holiday Group began in 1994 when she completed her work experience at Grand UK Holidays in Norwich, following her Travel & Tourism diploma from the local city college. In May 1995, she officially joined the team as a full-time reservations handler in the customer care department. From that point, Vanessa’s career flourished.

She quickly advanced from the Reservations team to the Contracts Department, where she excelled in daily administration, building strong relationships with hoteliers and suppliers. Her vibrant personality and strong work ethic also earned her the title of the company’s ‘social secretary’, and she quickly became known for enjoying local outings with colleagues often seen with a cocktail in hand!

In 2011, Vanessa transitioned to the Hotel Group Division, where she was instrumental in fostering relationships and supporting the company’s growth during a period of significant expansion. In recent years, she has returned to her roots in contracting, providing vital operational support and hotel contracting, drawing on her wealth of experience.

Outside of her professional life, Vanessa is a devoted mother of two and enjoys spending time with her family. Her favourite UK holiday destination is The Lake District, where she enjoys the tranquil scenery, charming market towns such as Ambleside and Keswick, and peaceful walks in the National Park.

Reflecting on her years of service, Vanessa says, “I love the Lake District – there’s something for everyone, from relaxing cruises on the lakes to charming market towns. Ambleside and Keswick are my favourites, and I especially enjoy walking in the National Park.”

Paul Bennett – MD of the group added ‘’Ness’s stalwart contribution to the company has been invaluable, and we look forward to many more years of success with her on the team as we expand even further – it is exciting times ahead !
