Dean Smith
Financial Controller & Company Secretary
My role: I am responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and compliance with regulatory requirements.

My experience: I joined The UK Holiday Group in 2010, shortly after graduating at the University of East Anglia with a degree in Accounting and Finance. During my time here I have progressed through the department from a Finance assistant to the Financial Controller as well as completing my ACCA to become a fully qualified accountant.

My favourite UK holiday destination: The Peak District due to its beautiful countryside, scenic walks and picturesque market towns which is perfect for a long weekend to unwind from my normal day to day routine.
Adam

My role: My duties involve preparing our company’s monthly, quarterly and yearly accounts for each of our brands as well as sending payments, preparing insurance and monitoring a share of the overhead expenditure such as stationery.

My experience: I was employed by the UK Holiday Group due to having a background in payroll. I have worked for The UK Holiday Group since 2013, and in that time I have vastly improved all my accounting skills, continued to develop my knowledge of excel and I also took evening classes to study and become AAT qualified.

My favourite UK holiday destination: My family’s favoured holiday destination has been the Lake District for many years and are often talking about fond memories of the scenic lakes, beautiful walks and local culture!
Ed
Finance Assistant
My role: Within the Finance Department I have quite a varied role. My duties include processing the accounts for The George Hotel Swaffham, sending statements to Travel Agents, processing invoices for the ferries we use and reconciling bank statements. Having a wide variety of roles allows me to work with not only the other members of the Finance Department but also people from other departments as well as staff from The George.

My experience: I worked part time in retail for 9 years, during which time I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Mathematics and completed my AAT qualification at City College Norwich. Then I joined The UK Holiday Group in 2014.

My favourite UK holiday destination: My favourite holiday spot in the UK is the North Norfolk Coast, Sheringham is lovely and scenic and there are plenty of coastal paths for relaxing walks by the sea.
Jess

My role: I have a number of responsibilities within the Finance department, my main role is to check all hotel, transport and admission invoices and ensure these are paid on time with our weekly payment runs. I also run monthly Tour Cost Control reports for all our brands to check the profit made on our tours against the weekly Margin reports which I also generate.

My experience: Before joining The UK Holiday Group in 2014, I worked as a legal cashier in a couple of local law firms where I learned the day-to-day running of the Finance departments.

My favourite UK holiday destination: I recently visited Bletchley Park and found this fascinating, we ended up spending the whole day there.
