New short breaks for solo travellers

Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has added five new escorted tours to its range for mature solo travellers, to cater for the rising demand in this sector. 

The coach holidays cover destinations such as Bournemouth (pictured), Cardiff, Yorkshire and Austria.

Grand UK Holidays has always recognised the importance of catering for the solo traveller, having operated a no single room supplement policy since the company was formed in 1984. 

Travellers on its main Grand UK programme don’t pay supplements for single bedded rooms on mainland UK coach holidays, and it also has a dedicated ‘Friendship Club’ solo travel programme.

Sales director Harold Burke said: “The over-55s age group is a growing market and solo travellers make up an increasingly large proportion of this sector.

“A significant proportion of our customers are single, widowed or divorced.

“Grand UK has catered for the needs of solo travellers for more than a quarter of a century now and we know what is important to them and what makes them come back to us again.
