Nelson is seeing stars
2nd July 2012
The Nelson Hotel in Great Yarmouth is celebrating its accreditation of three stars by the AA.
John Rushworth, general manager, said: “I am extremely proud of my staff in becoming the first Grand UK Hotel to gain an accreditation by a nationally recognised association such as the AA.
“This all ties in with my strategy for the hotel, moving us forward and achieving better things outside the coach market.
“My five-year aim is to gain an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence, become the top hotel in the group and of course, Great Yarmouth.
“However this will not happen without the support of Grand UK.”
He said sales at the hotel have been good and it is increasing private and internet-based sales in line with the new AA rating.
The hotel has also improved its rating on the reviews website TripAdvisor, moving from being ranked seventh in Great Yarmouth to fourth.
John added: “If you check the stats on the management page on Trip Advisor we have a rating of 94%, making us the current top hotel on recent reviews…based on all the hotels in Great Yarmouth.”
