Join the Christmas ‘house party’!
23rd May 2012
Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has unveiled a new range of seasonal celebration holidays for this coming winter.
Called ‘Festive House Parties’, the five-day coach holidays offer the chance to get into the festive spirit and let others worry about the driving, cooking and washing up.
Featured in Grand UK Holidays’ new 2012-13 festive/winter brochure, the breaks take place at nine Grand UK Hotels, and start at £189pp for five days’ half-board accommodation, coach travel and three excursions. The holidays depart on 10 December and 17 December.
The new seasonal getaways are in addition to Grand UK’s ever-popular range of Turkey & Tinsel holidays, Christmas and New Year breaks, and escorted tours to UK and European festive markets.
In fact, Grand UK Holidays offers one of the widest selections of Christmas and New Year holidays in the UK and more than 4,000 customers join us for the traditional festive season each year.
The new brochure also features a wide selection of Grand UK Gold holidays, the new upmarket range of coach tours which has been a soaraway success.
Almost 90% of the Grand UK Gold summer programme was sold within the first six months of sale and demand was so high that some of the winter tours were put on sale early.
Harold Burke, sales director, said: “The Christmas season grows in importance for us annually as more and more mature holidaymakers look to treat themselves at this special time of year.
“Each year we add new destinations and holiday types to cope with the rising demand, and this December will see our first ‘Festive House Parties’, designed to offer unbeatable value in the run-up to Christmas.
“We’re also seeing continuing strong demand for our luxury ‘Grand UK Gold’ brand which is attracting regular customers who like to treat themselves as well as clients who are new to coach tours.”
As well as the new ‘Festive House Parties’ range, there is a new ‘Fete de Noue’ holiday in Jersey, where the islanders host a programme of festive activities and street entertainment. It departs on 3 December and costs £339pp.
Also new is the Warner Festive Celebration (five days, £359pp) at Warner Leisure Hotel’s Nidd Hall Hotel – said to be where Edward VIII first met Wallis Simpson.

New Continental Christmas market holidays have been added, including The Markets of Lorraine & Alsace, and Fairytale Markets and Hanseatic Treats.
And the range of UK Christmas market holidays has been refreshed, with a choice of eight destinations, from Bath to Yorkshire.
