Grand UK Holidays has added two rock and pop themed holidays to its range of special interest short breaks for 2013.

 

‘Torquay Rock’ and ‘Blackpool Cabaret & the Singing City’ are both four-night breaks which have been added to the portfolio of themed coach tours, which also offers options such as line dancing, bingo, antiques, bowling and rambling.

‘Torquay Rock’ is a nostalgic coach holiday based at the Hotel Richmond – part of the sister brand Grand UK Hotels – in Torquay.

 

It starts with a welcome reception – complete with Babycham and maraschino cherries – and dinner with prawn cocktails and Black Forest gateau!

 

As well as sightseeing trips to places associated with teddy boys, mods and rockers, the holiday includes themed quizzes, fancy dress competitions and dancing to tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

 

It costs £329pp for half-board accommodation and travel.

 

 

 

‘Blackpool Cabaret & the Singing City’ has a 60s music theme, drawing inspiration from the Mersey Beat sounds of Liverpool.

 

It follows in the footsteps of the Beatles, and offers a ferry ride over the Mersey and an excursion to the Lake District.

 

Based in the New President Hotel, which offers cabaret entertainment each evening, the holiday costs from £229pp for half-board accommodation and travel.

 

 

 

Also new for 2013 is a short break to see horse racing at Great Yarmouth.

 

‘Let’s Go Racing’ is a coach holiday based at the Nelson Hotel – part of the sister brand Grand UK Hotels – in Great Yarmouth.

 

It features sightseeing excursions as well as a trip to an evening race meeting, and costs £329pp for half-board accommodation and travel.
