Grand UK Hotels appoints new sales and marketing manager

31st August 2011

The UK Holiday Group aims to build on the recent growth of its hotel brand, Grand UK Hotels, with a new sales and marketing manager.

Lynda Gotts-White has joined the Norwich-based holiday firm, tasked with attracting guests to the group’s 12 hotels and ensuring that the customers have a great stay.

She has been in the travel trade for nearly 15 years, with a wide range of experience across different sectors in senior roles.

Lynda has worked in aviation, for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Monarch Scheduled Airlines; in tour operations with Premier Holidays; and in retail travel at Thomas Cook Direct.

Before her travel career, she worked in the entertainment industry and still writes music and performs as a singer in a band.

Her family is from Norfolk and she had always planned to return to Norwich, so had followed the expansion of The UK Holiday Group with a keen eye.

“I have seen it go from strength to strength,” said Lynda, who joined the company’s Old Bakery head office in Queens Street, Norwich, in August.

“I think the entrepreneurial style of our managing director, Paul Bennett, along with the unique business model which has seen his company grow in a very tough climate were a real draw for me.

“I also saw that the Grand UK Hotels group is an established and growing brand, so being part of that really appealed to me.

“My new role is something of a departure for me and I am really enjoying this new challenge.

“We have a really good team here and everyone has made me feel very welcome.”

Harold Burke, sales director at The UK Holiday Group, said: “Lynda joins us at a very busy and exciting time for our firm.

“The hotels group is expanding to cope with the demand from our own tour operations and our trade partners, so her range of experience will be invaluable to help us keep this momentum going.”

Grand UK Hotels has recently acquired its 12th property – Cliffdene in Newquay – in addition to two others it took over last year: Daunceys Hotel in Weston-super-Mare and the Nelson Hotel in Great Yarmouth. Further developments are in the pipeline.

As well as expanding the portfolio of properties, Grand UK Hotels has introduced a training scheme for staff.
