Grand UK Holidays adds extra short breaks
10th February 2012
Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has added a range of short break offers to capitalise on the growing trend for last-minute bookings.
Prices start at just £99pp for the ‘Heart of Wales Supersaver’, which is a four-day coach touring holiday based in Llandrindod Wells, departing 16 March.
It includes half-board accommodation and two sightseeing excursions (Aberystwyth & Elan Valley, Cambrian Mountains).
Harold Burke, sales director, said: “We are increasingly seeing people booking closer and closer to departure so we have been adding several short coach tours to our range to cater for this demand.
“Some customers always like to book well in advance, often as soon as our brochures come out, but we are seeing more late bookings and we are getting a good response to such last-minute offers.
“Agents specialising in the over-55s market can often boost bookings in quieter periods with such offers.
“People are after a quick getaway at a bargain price – but equally, we’ve been seeing strong sales for our new upmarket ‘Gold’ tours, demonstrating how the market is doing well at both ends of the scale!”
The new short breaks include ‘singles specials’ aimed at solo travellers, including a five-day trip to Bournemouth (from £249pp).
The operator also features a Blackpool Cabaret Special five-day holiday, from £199pp.
This trip includes a 99p bar and has departures on 9 April and 7 May.
Other ‘supersaver deals’ feature coach touring holidays to the Cotswolds, Eastbourne, Killarney, the Lake District, the Isle of Wight, Torquay and Weston-super-Mare.
There is even a Mystery Supersaver which is just £149pp for five days, including half-board accommodation and three full-day sightseeing excursions, departing 12 March.
