Grand UK: fresh flavours for festive mix
4th September 2012
Grand UK Holidays has introduced new festive tours of Central and Eastern Europe to cater for demand for different destinations in the run-up to Christmas.
The over-55s specialist has seen its range of festive breaks increase each year, as more and more customers want to treat themselves for the seasonal celebrations.
Harold Burke, sales director, said: “Many of our customers are also looking for a second or even third holiday during the year, with the festive season proving a popular time to escape.
“Christmas markets in the UK, as well as European cities, are perennial favourites so several new options have been added to our forthcoming winter range.
“They aim to cater for those looking for an alternative that’s slightly off-the-beaten track, or repeat customers who want a different destination.”
Prague Christmas Market By Air is a new, four-day trip based in Hotel Don Giovanni in the Czech capital.
It takes clients to enjoy the city’s Christmas market in the Old Town and Wenceslas Square, and also offers a sightseeing tour and river cruise. It costs from £369pp.
Also new is Salzburg & Tyrolean Christmas Markets, a seven-day escorted coach tour, based in Hotel Edelweiss in Gotzens, Austria.
It costs £369pp and includes Salzburg, Innsbruck and a visit to Vipetino in Italy.
Other new Christmas market coach tours in European destinations have also been introduced to the 2012-13 brochure, featuring various resorts in Germany, Luxembourg, Holland, Belgium and France.
Finally, for those seeking an alternative view of Rhineland’s festive delights, a river cruise from Cologne to Koblenz and Rudesheim has been added. It costs from £99pp for five days.
