Grand UK adds 15 new themed tours

Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has 15 new themed breaks in its 2012/13 brochure to cater for demand for hobby holidays and special interest trips.
Sales director Harold Burke said: “More and more of our customers want to treat themselves to a break away to indulge in a hobby.
“They’re not really worried about the weather, so we’ve added plenty of fresh choices to our winter brochure.”
Its sister brand, Grand UK Hotels, has a property in Torquay – Hotel Richmond – which offers a new ‘Torquay Rock’ nostalgia holiday.
This has a ‘back to the 60s theme’, complete with Babycham, Maraschino cherries, Black Forest gateau and prawn cocktails!

Fans of 60s music will also enjoy ‘Blackpool Cabaret and the Singing City’, which includes tours of Liverpool and the Lake District, along with nightly cabaret entertainment.

Also new is Cornwall on Camera, which is based in the Cliffdene Hotel in Newquay, another property in the Grand UK Hotels group.
It offers the chance to visit sites associated with TV and film, including Jamaica Inn, Port Isaac (featured in Doc Martin) and Charleston.

Further afield is ‘Around the World in 80 Gardens’ which features Hamburg’s 2013 International Garden Show.
