Beat the budget with these bargain breaks
18th March 2011
Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has launched several new short breaks to cater for demand at the budget end of the market.
It has introduced ‘Weekend Getaways’, which are three-day escorted coach tours from just £89, including half-board accommodation.
It also saw a great start to 2011, thanks to its new Weston Winter Warmers, which offered five-day coach touring holidays from just £99, including half-board accommodation.
These new bargain breaks are in addition to its popular Magical Mystery Tours (5 days from £185pp) and Lucky Dips (5 days from £199pp, 8 days from £299pp).
Harold Burke, sales director at Grand UK Holidays, said: “Bookings for our tours got off to a great start in 2011 and our Weston Winter Warmers have sold well. These are five-day (four-night) holidays in Weston-super-mare, from just £99 in January and February.
“They're new for 2011 and their success reflects the demand for great value holidays.
“We are seeing trends for late bookings and short breaks, as people want to take more holidays and see their money go further.
“To capitalise on demand for more short breaks, we also introduced a new ‘Weekend Getaways’ range of three-day (two-night) escorted touring breaks, from £89.”
These Weekend Getaways offer departures in October, and include an evening of entertainment, return coach travel, a full-day sightseeing excursion, and half-board accommodation in one of four Grand UK Hotels.
The operator also features new Long-Stay UK holidays, which offer departures in the shoulder season months of March, April and October, and can work out as little as £22 per day.
Durations are 19, 26 and 33 days on a half-board basis at four Grand UK Hotels.
