Proud of our Past... The UK Holiday Group was founded in 1983 by Paul Bennett, our Chairman. The only son of a farm labourer, Paul studied Law at the University of Kent at Canterbury and had planned to become a barrister. On graduating he decided to take a year out from the legal profession and, in an attempt to 'see the world at someone else's expense', took a job in the Public Relations department of a holiday company in Folkestone. Soon he was hooked on the travel business and, with a few hundred pounds of savings, Paul took the plunge on his 23rd birthday. The UK Holiday Group was born! Today the Group has a gross turnover in excess of £30m, and handles holiday bookings for more than 100,000 people a year.

Proud of our People... Our Chairman is still actively involved in all aspects of the company's activities, and we are particularly proud of the loyalty shown by key personnel. Our first employee back in 1984, Sally Clarke, still works full time in the Company, and the average length of service for Directors and Senior Managers is over twelve years. And one of our first-ever Tour Managers, appointed to our escorted holidays programme back in the mid 1980s, continues to work for the company now.
